An extremely expressive rendering of a dragon holding a tama (Buddhist sacred jewel). Made from mountain mahogany and ebony, this netsuke is carved without any seams, so the dragon appears to be carved from one piece of wood. The eyes are inlaid with water buffalo bone and water buffalo horn.
