A stunning nature okimono, depicting an autumn forest scene with extraordinary detail. Damselflies perch on the remnants of a brambleberry bush that rises above a pile of decomposing leaves. Underneath, a garter snake and various other small creatures crawl about. Carved from two blocks of wood with additions of sheep horn, amber, tagua nut, brass and spring steel wire. This piece is truly a tour de force.
